"In July of 2012, I was in a very serious boating accident that resulted in two broken tibias and two torn patella tendons (from the propeller). Not knowing if I was ever going to walk again, I was faced with a very long recovery that would end up in having 5 total surgeries and physical therapy 3-4 times a week for 8 months. The accident required me for take a year off from college, my senior year, in order to recover from the injury. Deeply depressed that I was not able to walk for 10 weeks and was missing my senior year with all my best friends, I found the iron to be my antidepressant. I had always worked out for sports throughout high school and college, but never understood the importance of everything outside the weight room such as nutrition, supplements, and recovery.
